Ganesh Chaturthi Utsav

Experience the joy and devotion of Ganesh Chaturthi Utsav on September 23, 2023, with the Perth Marathi Association. This auspicious festival is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity revered as the remover of obstacles and the bestower of wisdom. The event will begin with the installation of beautifully crafted Ganesha idols, which will be worshipped during elaborate puja rituals. Devotees will offer prayers, flowers, and sweets to the deity, accompanied by devotional music and energetic dance performances. As the celebration progresses, the visarjan or immersion procession will take place, where the idols are submerged in a nearby body of water, symbolizing Lord Ganesha's return to his divine abode. This vibrant procession will be accompanied by music, dancing, and the enthusiastic chanting of devotees. Throughout the festival, a variety of traditional Maharashtrian sweets, such as Modak and Karanji, will be available, as they are believed to be Lord Ganesha's favorites.
